Nerd Force Then and Now

Nerd Force Then and Now

After graduating from The City University of New York with a computer science degree, Ilir Sela encountered a very weak, post 9/11, New York City job market. As an act of necessity, in 2003, he drained his savings to start Nerd Force, a website development shop, out of a tiny rented office in Staten Island, NY.

From a small website design and development company, Nerd Force quickly morphed to on-the-go computer and technology services for business and residential computer users. After experiencing immediate success, Ilir decided to invest in new, yellow Scion XB’s (Nerd Mobiles) and hired A+ certified technicians, who he called Certified Nerds, to support the growing number of clients. Nerd Force had fast become a local technology department for businesses in Staten Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx.

In 2005, Ilir began the process of franchising the Nerd Force concept as part of his plan to expand the brand nation-wide. The idea was to give quality certified technicians the opportunity to operate their own business and achieve their financial and professional goals while helping to create a powerhouse brand. By September, 2006 the Franchising process was in full force as the Nerd Force brand and logo became registered trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark office. Finally, in 2007 Nerd Force officially became a franchise company by completing the franchise registration in the State of New York.

In 2008 Nerd Force was acquired by Nexus Management, a global managed I.T. service provider with a data center and offices in Brunswick, Maine and the United Kingdom. As a result, Nerd Force franchise partners have the ability to provide managed technology services to businesses with up to 500 users while continuing to provide traditional computer and technology services to the consumer. The managed service offering includes 24/7/365 Help Desk, 24/7/365 Network Monitoring, Automated Remote Data Backup, and Hosted Emails (including Hosted Exchange).

Today, Nerd Force is offering franchise opportunities to qualified candidates around the world. The Nerd Force system is one of the fastest growing I.T. franchises and is aiming to open 15 new franchise locations in 2008.
